English Composition 1: April 19, 2011 (3231)

We met in room 514 today by way of 511--Ms. Hamilton stole our open room! We discussed the basis of the class and why we need to take writing and composition even if we are studying to be a Graphic Designer or Security Personnel.

I passed-out the syllabus, to be discussed at a later date (in the classroom, not the lab), the HOLY GRAIL, and the first Daily Writing Spark assignment. In the lab, we wrote three paragraphs about our character as a prewriting exercise for our first paper.

The prompt is/ was:

"Practice your own character development skills by establishing YOURSELF as the main character in a novel or short story. Write a three-paragraph minibiography of yourself as the main character in a true story. Include background, a physical description, and a few quirky details."

If you need any of these documents, you need to see me in room 405, ASAP.  :)

There is no homework for Thursday, but we will be jumping right into the Writing Process and the text.

See you then!
