- We began by completing a "Free Writing Exercise." Basically, all you need to do (if you've missed class) is sit down an write whatever it is that pops into your head for 10 mins. straight without stopping to think about what it is you've written on the paper. It doesn't have to make sense, and it doesn't necessarily have to be legible or appropriate--I AM NOT GOING TO READ IT, BUT IT IS WORTH 10 PTS TO YOU!
- Since we began reading Samuel Pepys on page 542, today, and he is famous for (unknowingly--until the end) documenting crucial historical information through diary form, free writing is the only way to moderately capture the sentiments of diary writing in your life--PLUS, IT'S THERAPEUTIC!
- We read the first two entries in Pepys's diary: A Public Execution, A Private Explosion AND The Coronation of Charles II (pgs 544-545 in the text)
