Honors English 12 (December 14, 2007)

In Class:

  • Reviewed Benny-boy Johnson ("O' Rare Ben...")
  • Wrote love lyrics that began..."Drink to me only with thine eyes, and I will pledge with mine..."
  • Thank you to those who volunteered to share!

Your skin glows like the Kiwi,

and blossoms mushy as the lily in the purest hope of spring.

My heart follows your pinging voice

and leaps like a mere cat at the whisper of your name.

The evening floats in on a great parrot’s wing

And your belt I carry into the twilight of headlight beams,

and hold next to my hand, comforts me.

I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of orangest Tang.

As my baby toe falls from my jacket, it reminds me of Egypt.

In the quiet, I listen for the last clash of the day.

My heated knee leaps into my Gap jeans.

I wait in the moonlight for your secret ring

so that we may be squeezing as one, knee to knee, in search

of the magnificent green and mystical Bill Clinton of love.

Homework:

Read: Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread and prepare for student-centered discussions

Also, finish your love lyric if you've not already done so! (15 pts)
